Our Story
Michigan Mushroom Substrate is a family-owned mushroom operation that has been growing and selling mushrooms for over 10 years. We got our start plugging logs in the woods before switching to making mushroom blocks and selling to local restaurants. With the goal of being able to support our families, we started working towards expanding our business to include making mushroom blocks to sell to growers. We enjoy growing mushrooms and appreciate all the nutritional and medicinal benefits they provide. We wanted more people to be able to experience growing and eating delicious mushrooms, so we set out on a mission to make growing gourmet mushrooms affordable without compromising on quality.
